I would love to say that I am an excellent eater and that I get all of my nutrients from my food, but most days that usually isn’t true. I’ve done a lot of research to find vitamins and supplements to fill the void, and also, I am no longer a spring chicken so I need a little help.
We all have different needs so you will have to find what works the best for you, but I want to share with you my favorite vitamin and supplement brands that I take.

RITUAL
I did a lot of research to find a multi-vitamin that would do everything I wanted it to, and the one that kept popping up was Ritual. I love that they are responsibly sourced, they don’t have any added stuff and they even look pretty. They also had everything I had read that women my age need including omega-3’s. I have always had fish oil that you have to keep in the fridge. I never remember to take it, and it never tastes great. Ritual has a minty essence which is much more pleasant.
Ritual has recently added vitamins for men, kids, and teens. So now the whole family is using them. Find them here.
HUM NUTRITION
I love HUM Nutrition. I was first drawn to HUM because of their fun and colorful marketing (I am such a sucker), but I stayed because they make a difference and they get great reviews.
HUM starts you off with a quiz to figure out what you are lacking in your diet and what your goals are. Then a nutritionist recommends some options for you. HUM also has a fabulous blog filled with all sorts of interesting information.
I have been trying different options, but here are my favorites that I take every day.
- DAILY CLEANSE – I knew this one worked well when I went without it for about a week. Its job is to cleanse your skin and body. It has a tone of great reviews for helping get rid of acne, but I love that it gives me more energy and I feel less heavy and sluggish.
- GUT INSTINCT – This is a daily probiotic. Most probiotics that I have taken have to live in the fridge – and out of sight, out of mind, so I love that it can stay out. It had amazing reviews so I gave it a try and I really like it.
- COLLAGEN LOVE – As a 40 something I am always looking for something to make my skin look more youthful, and this really helps. I notice a difference in my complexion when I take it consistently.
8 Greens
I watched a video on Reese Witherspoon’s Instagram once where she whipped up a smoothy with pretty much a whole drawer full of produce, but who am I kidding. That would happen on Monday and by Tuesday I would be over all that prep work. I need something simple if I am going to do it, and 8 Greens is the solution.
It was created by Dawn Russell, who found the healing properties of greens when she had cancer in her 20’s. (read more here) She then made it her mission to make greens easy to take. Of course, this doesn’t mean you don’t have to eat your vegetables, but this just gives you a boost. 8 Greens is a tablet that you stick in 8oz of water and VOILA! Now that I can handle!
Sakara
Sakara is a beautiful brand out of LA. They have a clean meal delivery program, but it is a little indulgent and out of my price range, so I just stick with some items from their Clean Boutique.
The Metabolism Super Powder is one of my favorite things. I mix it with Almond Milk and frozen bananas. It really gives me more energy and makes me feel less puffy.
I also like their Beauty & Detox water drops. You could probably get a version of these for less, but I am kind of obsessed with their glass bottles. (I told you I was a sucker for great marketing). They have a beautiful cookbook as well.
Of course, I am not a nutritionist or anything close to it, just always trying to feel and be my best. To get a complete list of all my health and wellness faves make sure to get the free guide.
